Welcome to MiKa Art Annex!

My paintings are usually small in scale. This is because I love the intimate feeling of small objects. This inherent desire for smallness may originate from my upbringing in Japan, where the culture tends towards an enthusiasm for fine and delicate things. Small objects invite people to come close and appreciate the details. There is a desire to touch them, pick them up, and keep them physically close to cherish. I hope that owners will develop a special bond with my paintings, and grow to treasure them.

I hope to capture fleeting innocence and pathos of the world in my paintings. It would be a pleasure for me if my art could provide a little escape or quiet space where people can experience solace and warmth.
